What Is UFC International Fight Week?
International Fight Week is an annual event organized by the UFC. It takes place in Las Vegas in the first week of July and offers MMA fans a week-long celebration full of activities and engagement with the UFC, particularly with fighters and even the UFC ring girls.
Some of the activities include autograph sessions, press conferences, weigh-ins, and fan expos, just to name a few (full list below).
The first International Fight Week was introduced in 2012 when the UFC teamed up with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and began thinking of ways to increase traffic to Las Vegas during a usually quiet period. International Fight Week was their answer.
As part of the partnership, many of the activities are held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, which offers over 200,000 square feet of space for fans to gather and have fun.
The 11th International Fight Week will take place from July 3 to July 9, 2023, which would’ve been 12 if covid hadn’t canceled IFW in 2020. The highlight of every IFW is the stacked UFC PPV event at the end of the week, with 2023 being UFC 290 headlined by Alexander Volkanovski vs Yair Rodriguez.
